Angel of Destiny

I actually drew this sketch several months ago, and it remained in my sketchbook until my recent free time where I finished it. This image came to me in a dream, so I really wanted to get it down. I imagined it like this without the threads at first, and then later with threads. Originally the concept involved a shadowed girl in the centre but I changed it. Because she wouldn't have much presence because the feathers from her wings are pretty dark. I have a fascination for drawing angels even though I'm not religious in anyway. I guess I just like drawing the wings.
But the concept of this drawing, grew and changed until it became this. The threads, blue and green are like the various threads of life, I was inspired by the idea of the "red thread of fate" which I've read about in a few mangas. I would have done it red too if I had a red inky pen with me when I drew this. But I didn't. Either way, I'm quite satisfied with this result, actually.


OH NO just realised that the scan didn't really do this justice, it makes my blue and green ink parts look like cartoon colouring. Damn. Try and imagine it a much more smoother blend of blue and green together.
